Dance Fitness can be a way to lose and manage your weight, but in and of itself it is not enough. To manage weight, there are other components, such as diet, rest, strength training and cross training with other cardio workouts (Boot Camp, Tao Boe)Strength training at least 2 times a week for the major muscles groups (Biceps, Triceps, Chest, Back,Shoulders and Legs). This alone can boost your metabolism and burn more calories. The other cardio workouts for example, swimming, running, walking, treadmill, etc can be added once a week to break away from just dancing.Living in this busy world, getting the proper rest is most likely neglected. It is advise to get 7 to 8 hours a sleep each night. Do you? Diet, what does that mean? It means what you eat. Are you eating healthy? Do you have fruits, vegetables and plenty of water each day? A balance of proteins, fats and carbohydrates? The food pyramid is a good guide to follow to get a nutritional daily intake of healthy food. Food PyramidDance Fitness and Weight LossHip HopThe group fitness schedule states Hip Hop at 5:30 PM. You say great and excited to get there. But when you arrive it’s not the Hip Hop you had in mind. No locking, popping and any of the old school funk Hip Hop, It’s been replaced by dancing to the pop sounds of today. No Hip Hop sounds! The name Hip Hop is a great icon name and dates back to the 70’s & 80’s when the urban city kids were hip hoping. Do you remember the lockers? Or the soul train dancers back in the 70’s? Now that is true hip hop in form. I went to a hip hop class recently and it feature such songs in the likes of Telephone. There was a lot of jumping around but the funk in hip hop was missing. So if you want old school hip hop beware before you go to a class listed as Hip Hop. Will the Hip Hop come back to Hip Hop? Calories Burned During Dance Fitness The average amount of calories burned during a dance fitness class is about 550 calories. That is depending on how hard the participant is working. High Energy music does not necessary translate into working hard. Slow music does not necessary translate into not working hard. You get what you put into it. Getting certify to teach fitness today is much easier than before the Internet age. You can go online and get certify by simply answering a few questions and pay a fee. Or go to a live certification and just jump around for a few hours and you are deemed to teach. There is no practical exam! You paid your fee. No CPR requires either. Yikes! Where is fitness heading? Less concern for your health and more concern about profit?CertificationsCopyright 2012 Paul Eugene, All Rights Reserved, Privacy Statement
