Active Kids In Fitness
Parents you are going to have make active time with your kids to get them in shape.
•
Leave the car home and walk or run with them to the park.
•
No cell phone, texting or facebook - create a us time, doing something physical, outside! It could be mowing the lawn,
washing the car.

Do a fitness DVD together.
•
Commercial Time game: Who do the most jumping jacks or push-ups during a commercial. Be creative!
•
Camping vacation, hiking
Parents Role / Family Fitness
Are kids today less active than a generation ago? I would think so. Kids today would rather push buttons on a gadget,
chat on facebook and watch videos on youtube than to go outdoors to play in the fresh air. We are not only losing a
generation of kids to sitting on their butts in front of a machine, but they are showing the lack of verbal skills! Direct verbal
communications is becoming a thing of the past. I recently instructed my granddaughter to pick up the phone and call me,
not to text me! I suggested that we would walk to where we were going and not drive. You should have seen the look on
her face. So parents we have got to get are kids active or they will be the next generation know for obesity. We are sort of
already there.
