Coronavirus & the Church

Now that the coronavirus is here, it left me thinking about how to respond to church attendance.

Would it be wise not to attend church services where their are large gatherings of people? The church I regular attend is a mega church, at least 1,000 at each service. I choose to use common since and not attend until this Coronavirus is under control.

Some people may say if I have faith I would go anyway and the God will protect me. To me that is foolish talk. It actually let’s me see how small their view of God its. Meaning God is not limited to that time, place and building they go to once a week. I believe God would be pleased if I took caution and refrained from large gatherings.

There will be those pastors, preachers who will panic at the lost of offerings they will lose if people started staying home. I think it will reveal the heart of the preacher on hold he responds to his congregations. I can here some of those Word of Faith teachers telling their people to have faith in God, he will protect you.

But what caught my mind, was the report of up 60% of causes in South Korea coming from people who attended a mega church! The pastor telling people to continue to attend and not wear mask! Is that not crazy? I fear for people who are so caught up in extreme faith, that they tossed common sense to wind. I believe when we use common sense God will provide where common sense stops.
